Pastor Steve is a graduate of Parkersburg High School and Southern Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in Communications.
After graduation from SIU, he worked for several radio and television stations in Illinois, Ohio and West Virginia. In 1981, he began a career in banking and finance. Steve is currently the Vice President of Special Operations and the Director of Business Development at Star USA Federal Credit Union.
Upon receiving a call to the ministry, Steve completed his studies and was ordained in 2012. He serves as Worship Pastor, Chairman of the Council of Elders and was named Interim Pastor at the Abney Street Church of God in September of 2017.
Pastor Steve has been married to Becky since 1987 and they live in St. Albans with their daughter Elizabeth who is a sophmore at Marshall University studying medical imaging.

Becky is a from Huntington, WV. She attended Marshall University, Certified Credit Union Executive Management School and graduated from Louisiana State University's Credit Union Management School.
Becky has served as Administrative Assistant for Abney St. since October of 2008 and as the church's bookkeeper since January 2015.
She and her husband, Rev. Steve Hewitt have served in numerous ministry positions at Abney St. Church of God since they began attending there in January 1998. They live in St. Albans with their daughter Elizabeth who is a sophmore at Marshall University studying medical imaging.
